Luftverk Magicyoyo Skyva
This is my first NON-Luftverk product in a long time. Plastics specialists Magicyoyo China contacted Jeffrey Pang like 6 months ago asking if he could help design and brand a plastic yoyo for them.
The result is nothing but the best.
Fingerspin style play has pretty much taken over everywhere. I wanted a hub that could outperform any yoyo at fingerspin style tricks. Its the reason why the hub of each yoyo is machined after injection molding making it super slick and seamless. There is a dual stage hub – one that is super easy to hit and the second smaller one to lock your finger in place. The ones who have tried it already know what I’m talking about.
And of course – simple minimalistic logos only. Packaging had to be as beautiful as my other stuff. The foam has an exact string cutout. And we even found suppliers for black elastic bands because they looked more aesthetically pleasing than brown ones. I wanted something that looked and felt ultra premium in the hand – without the premium price.
The best part of this project was learning so much – from helping them design the mold CAD to standing in front of the injection molding machine watching the first one come out – so hot you can barely hold it in your palm. But its surreal watching something you designed become reality right in front of your eyes.

How would I describe the SKYVA? Amazing.
The SKYVA, desinged by Jeffery Pang, is one of the best yoyos I have had the pleasure of using, and hands down the best inexpensive yoyo; I can’t imagine buying anything else for $20. I have thrown both the Replay Pro and Classic Pro (with sleeper mod), two of the most highly recommended beginner throws, and the SKYVA beats them both in almost every way. It combines the larger, more stable “V” shape of the Classic and the solid weight of the Replay, without feeling heavy on the string (Replay) or hollow (Classic). The Classic has a “better” catch zone surface for regular grinds (but not truly good by any stretch). However, I literally don’t care after using the SKYVA. The SKYVA has a trick up it’s sleeve no yoyo under $40 has. Finger Spins. The cup design is perfect for learning them; I didn’t know how to do finger spins apart from head knowledge before I opened my SKYVA, but I landed a sucessful spin on my third attempt out of the box. Impressive. The machined dimple drastically reduces the need to perfect the “soft finger” technique, allowing you perfect less elements simultaneously to be successful. Beyond this feature, the yoyo is incredibly stable and smooth, features reliable LuftPADs, the same used in the designer’s own LUFTVERK yoyos, and has no sharp molding lines to hurt your catch. If I could nock the SKYVA for anything, It is that your fingernail makes short work of the cool minimalistic graphics on the inside of the cup. Then again, this is a testament to how much I’ve been enjoying the SKYVA over the last two days! ;D

For $20 can’t beat it with a stick. It plays great. I had a Yeti 2.0 and like the Skyva better. I have seen videos of finger spins that last for days.

This is a great yoyo. It was my first getting back into it, but for the price you cannot beat it. Yybb shipping was quick and the extra signed qc card was awesome . Don’t be afraid if this will be your first you won’t regret it just learn the binds.
