The concept of side effects plays a very cool new way to change your yo-yo’s performance with style. Unlike modding which is fun in its own right. this a great way to get more fun and use out of most one drop design yo-yo’s and a few other designer throws.
Quick note – stock on Side effects become slim and out of stock occasionally. Very glad JD was able to get such a good inventory. these are very popular so don’t wait to try one out!
I own a few side effects (se’s) and do enjoy using them in my crime scene cascade and blue lithium hazmat. The weight does impact how the throw plays. the weight is centered at the core of throw to either give the throw a more floaty speedy or stable slow feel.
Domes – stock cascade: are smooth and nice and compliment the cascade curves very well. They also play very similar to the spikes.
Spikes – Stock Hazmat: I like the angular look and since the ones i have are black its hard to even see that its pointy unless looking from an angle.
Ultra lights – as the name states they are light. and they do dramatically change the nature of the throw to be a faster player.
Anti-yo – one of the heavier options to choose from. I do like using this SE a lot for its looks and slows the play style down to help with learning new tricks.
